Sunset Bar - Dunk Island.

I love this place, probably the best kept secret in Nth Queensland. It really is back to basics, and I mean that in a really good way. The kitchen is a converted sea container, the bar is a series of eskies and umbrellas. There is nothing flashpants about this place, well you are on a tropical island after all. Really what more do you need?

Great affordable food from my mate Chef Ray, ice cold beer straight out an esky all this topped off with a generous helping of sun, sand and sea.

The Sunset Bar is open every weekend to anybody who wants to come across, but there is only two ways to actually get there, either your own boat (doesn't necessarily need to be powered) or the Water taxi from Wongaling Beach.

South Mission is the closest exit point to Dunk Island only 4klm off the coast. I've paddled over there many times in my Kayak usually takes about 45 - 50 minutes at a leisurely pace.

Every Saturday (weather permitting) they have a musician playing there between 2.00 - 6.00pm. I know this because i am one of the musicians who play there. This place is very casual, strictly beach attire, shorts and a Tshirt - bare feet is a must.
