National Hotel - Mt Molloy
The National Hotel in Mt Molloy (Mt Molloy Pub) is a classic Queensland country pub located 40klm north of Mareeba in FNQ with great food, cheap drinks and friendly locals.
I play there quite often on a Friday night in the Beer Garden to an appreciative usually quite vocal crowd
Shane the licensee and his staff run a tight ship and the place has a very relaxed casual feel, typical of a great country pub in Nth Qld.
When I play there they usually put me up upstairs in the their accommodation, the rooms are clean and tidy what more does a muso want after a big gig.

In the morning I'm always in need of a coffee, luckily there is a great little cafe across the road called Ahoy Cafe an interesting little sort of bohemian place with all sorts unusual knick knacks for sale but the best part is… the coffee there is great too.

If you're like me when I'm in a country town I like to spread the love around to the local businesses so just up the road from the pub probably 50 metres away is a a great little out doors Mexican Cafe and depending on how big the night before was, I'll be after a big plate of the greasies bacon and eggs. I like to kick back relax and hum along to the same mexican mariachi band music that has been playing on repeat for as long as I've been going there.
The elderly lady who runs the place is lovely and cooks up a great meal..
